Macon County Government participates in the federal E-Verify Employment Verification Program. This internet-based system is part of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE)

Program initiative and allows businesses to determine the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. Macon County is required to publish its federal ID numbers and dates of registration on its website.

Employment identification is only for employees under the administration of Macon County Government.

Background

Some positions with Macon County require the applicant to be a U.S. citizen, which is stated on the individual job posting. All new hires are required to complete federal I-9 employment verification forms upon hire, and Macon County uses the federal E-verify system to confirm the employment authorization of all new hires.
