Regional and Area Boards

The Macon County Commissioners appoint members to several regional and area boards and commissions each year. Unlike county boards and commissioners, these groups operate outside the direct supervision of county government.

Certain qualifications are required to hold positions on some boards, commissions, committees or authorities. These qualifications are stipulated in the acts creating these organizations.

Among these boards and the River Valley Regional Commission, the Middle Flint Regional E-911 Authority and the Middle Georgia Regional Solid Waste Management Authority.
